Course Summary

Business Chinese is designed for people who have master Pinyin and know the basic Chinese characters to undertake Business and Commercial activities in China. This course is intended to improve the learner’s capacity of Chinese with practice and case study, combined with depth knowledge in Chinese commercial conversation and business management. At the same time, it helps the student get to know the business environment and perspective in China.
The courses consist of various chapters covering negotiation, banking, business contract and so on. Each lesson includes valuable cultural notes such as etiquette tips, exercises, and English translations to help the students avoid embarrassing mistakes.

Objectives:

Learn the basic words and expressions in business and financial field;
Learn the Customs etiquette and protocol;
Talk freely on business issues with Chinese people.

Lesson description

Lesson 1: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about business meeting.

Lesson 2: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about booking air ticket at the front desk of a hotel, as well as the use of “对了...”, “最好...”, “不过...” in sentence pattern.

Lesson 3: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about booking dinner in a restaurant.

Lesson 4: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about bank and the use of “既...也/又...”, “既不...也不” in sentence pattern.

Lesson 5: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about deposit and currency exchange in the bank including “是...还是...”, “成”.

Lesson 6: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about business feast inviting, as well as the use of “除了...以外...”, “尽早...” in sentence pattern.

Lesson 7: learn basic dialogue and some expressions about business feast, as well as the usage of “十分”, “来” in sentence patterns.

Lesson 8: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about visiting factory.

Lesson 9: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about advertising, as well as the usage of some words such as “随着”, “一般来说”.

Lesson 10: Learn dialogues and some basic expressions about cross board declaration and passenger customs entry, as well as “主语+有+宾语+（助动词）+动词+（宾语）” sentence pattern.
